The primary works of this project involved the construction and commissioning of a new underground concrete reservoir.  This replaced the existing above ground timber tank reservoir with more than double the capacity.

The reservoir’s sensitive location on Council reserve land adjoining private property boundaries was a pivotal concern for our Client, Watercare. The construction methodology had to consider all potential adverse impacts on the local stakeholders and aim to eliminate or mitigate these impacts. A positive relationship was established with local stakeholders throughout the project duration through letter drops, project update boards and the professionalism of our onsite staff.

This was a great example of HEB Construction’s capability to undertake critical works in sensitive environments to the full satisfaction of our client Watercare.

From earthworks and ground retention at the beginning of the job through to the concrete construction, mechanical and electrical fit out and utilities works, this project has involved a number of contractors all cooperating and collaborating to deliver a quality service safely and efficiently.

The successful testing and commissioning of the reservoir demonstrated HEB’s ability to manage complex water networks with multi-disciplinary input from the civil, mechanical and electrical fields.

The project’s remaining works involved the upgrade and reconfiguration of the outlying water supply networks of Waiau and Glenbrook Beach.
