Puhinui Park (formerly Barrowcliffe) is an approximately 260 unit affordable housing subdivision for the New Zealand Housing Foundation on a 5Ha area of Council owned land.
The site is made up of approximately 450m of main through road which connects to the Barrowcliffe Road Bridge from Wiri Station Road with six separate blocks of high-density housing and apartments bordered by around 500m of side roads.
Currently, all roads are metalled with kerb and channel progressing through the site as well as concrete footpath, vehicle crossings and right of ways. Power, water reticulation and fibre are also installed in the first stage of the subdivision, with works beginning shortly on the second stage/inner roads. Environmental stabilising works will start shortly. We anticipate that the completion date is Q2 2019. Due to the nature of this project the work has been constructed as the designs for each individual component has progressed.
HEB Construction began on site in March 2018, with to HEB staff onsite full time as well as bringing in our specialist division as needed – HEB Drainage crews, Traffic Management and Chipseal/Bitumen (in the near future).
