Derrick Adams - CEO
Since becoming CEO in 2007, Derrick has overseen the consolidated growth of HEB into the total infrastructure provider that it is today. Throughout this growth, Derrick has ensured the retention of HEB’s traditional core values, providing a non-hierarchical approach that is both accessible and collaborative. Derrick is a Past President and Fellow of Engineering New Zealand.
Guy Pierce - Chief Financial Officer
Guy joined HEB in mid-2013, bringing a depth of knowledge relating to the construction, manufacturing, services and the professional accounting and finance industries. Guy's strength is in taking the technical finance skills in a pragmatic way to the detailed and operational side of the business and also in developing people in the business to develop and achieve their best.
Stephane Riot - Technical Director
Stephane brings over 25 years of global construction experience to HEB. He began working for VINCI Group in 1992 and has worked in France, Egypt, Indonesia, South Africa and New Caledonia for the Group. He has an outstanding knowledge of working in an international environment and of leading multicultural teams, whilst striving for excellence.
Stephane is responsible for ensuring VINCI’s formidable technical knowledge is disseminated throughout the business and that HEB has access to VINCI’s expertise and innovation.
David Simpson - General Manager Civil and Maintenance Operations
David joined HEB in June 2017, bringing with him significant experience in the New Zealand infrastructure sector, primarily in the water, industrial and facilities sectors. David has considerable expertise in leading and growing large teams, in both project delivery and maintenance environments, with an astute commercial edge. Familiar with working for both private and public sector clients, David brings a strong relationship, people and safety-focused approach to ensure the delivery of quality outcomes.
Steve Croft - General Manager Structures and Specialised Operations
Steve joined HEB Construction ten years ago after working as a civil engineer in the construction industry both here and overseas. As General Manager – Structures and Specialised Operations, he brings over 20 years of extensive experience to the table, primarily in leading delivery teams on large alliance construction and D&C projects. He has gained a wide range of experience having worked right across HEB's business units. Steve’s innate ability to communicate across all levels makes him an invaluable member of the management team.
Mark Evans - General Manager National Projects
Mark joined the HEB team in September 2015 and leads our National Projects division. He brings over 25 years’ experience of working on large-scale infrastructure projects, utilising his extensive technical competence, project and commercial management experience as well as successful leadership skills.
National Projects is an important part of HEB's future and Mark’s appointment reflects our commitment to the major project market.
John Turnbull - General Manager Group Services
John has served in a range of operational roles at HEB for over 16 years. In his current role, John applies his broad working knowledge of the company along with his strong interest in people and strategy to lead the development of our Human Resource Management capability, Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management disciplines, Communications and Business Development functions. He works to preserve and develop key aspects of the HEB culture – our greatest strength and asset. He also works to promote the successful integration of HEB into VINCI Construction International Network (VCIN).
Janine Hoet - Group Manager - HR
Janine joins HEB Construction from a stellar career path that included 10 years working in the construction sector. Her key focus and passion is professional learning and development. Janine sees this as a critical piece of work for the business in terms of attracting and retaining excellent staff.
Ian McNally - Business Performance and Process Manager
Ian joined HEB in 2007. With over 30 years’ of Civil Engineering industry experience, Ian now combines his knowledge of Total Quality Management (TQM), procurement and collaborative contracting techniques to lead our safety, quality, environmental and tendering functions. As a champion of the culture needed to deliver collaborative projects, Ian supports our operational teams in helping to develop management system solutions that reflect legislative requirements and the needs of our clients and their stakeholders.
Craig Wheatley - Head of Legal
Craig joined HEB in 2019 as our Head of Legal. Craig has significant experience working on the full range of legal and commercial issues within the infrastructure, construction and energy sectors in both New Zealand and the UK. Prior to joining HEB Craig spent 6 years in a variety of senior legal and commercial roles for an ASX-listed infrastructure provider.
Wayne Raymond - Commercial Business Manager
Wayne joined HEB Construction in 2012 bringing over 40 years of experience in the heavy civil engineering and commercial building industry in New Zealand and the Pacific Rim.
He has accrued considerable knowledge around the identification and management of commercial and business risks. Wayne is a strong advocate for strategic planning and building new and enduring relationships with our clients and preferred service providers.
