    ABOUT

HEB Construction Ltd can trace its roots back to 1975, when three individuals named Harris, Etherton and Brownlee formed HEB Drainage Ltd. One of the company’s early customers was Bruce Pulman, who at the time, worked for a local housing and development company. Bruce left their employment in 1980 and formed HEB Contractors Ltd with Harris in a 50 / 50 partnership. The construction company soon grew and within a year, the Pulman family acquired full ownership.

For the next 23 years HEB Contractors Ltd grew steadily through its work in the Auckland region, the Bay of Plenty, Waikato and Northland, effectively flying ‘under the radar’ of the larger national companies. That was to change in 2003, when HEB acquired Smithbridge NZ Ltd. This acquisition lifted the HEB profile onto the national stage and propelled the business towards the position it holds in the industry today.

HEB Construction Ltd has since grown into one of the leading civil construction companies in New Zealand.  We provide our clients with a diverse, multi-disciplined civil engineering infrastructure capability that helps to sustain the communities in which we work. This capability includes the construction of sub-divisions, roads and bridges (including pavements and surfacing), stormwater drainage, pumping stations, water and waste water treatment plants, as well as piling, wharf construction, precast concrete elements and landscaping.

In September 2015, HEB Construction became a member of the VINCI Construction International Network (VCIN).  Founded in 1899 as Société Générale d´Enterprises, based in Paris, VINCI employs over 185,000 people in over 100 countries. They are one of the top 50 companies listed on the European Stock Exchange and had €29.2bn of forward work as of the first quarter in 2015. VINCI is engaged in work across many construction sectors, including rail networks, energy projects, airports, highways, bridges and hydro dams.
