Auckland System Management – Road Maintenance Contract
Keeping New Zealand’s busiest road network operational 24/7.
Auckland’s State Highways are the busiest roads in the country, putting enormous wear and tear on the network each year. To manage and maintain such important transport routes, the Auckland System Management Alliance (ASM) was formed, which includes HEB Construction, Fulton Hogan, and client Waka Kotahi Transport Agency.
The ASM scope includes predominantly motorways and expressways across the Greater Auckland area, including State Highways 1, 2, 16, 18, 20 and 22. All totalled, it exceeds 1,200 km of roads and in excess of 290 bridge structures. As a part of the alliance, HEB’s role is to ensure the network stays running, avoiding maintenance at peak traffic times, deploying leading-edge traffic management solutions, and undertaking a variety of maintenance tasks.
Maintenance of 1,200 km of Greater Auckland road networks as a part of the ASM alliance, including:
Emergency response, asset management, bridge maintenance, asset maintenance, vegetation control, graffiti and litter removal, resurfacing and pavement renewal.
Maintenance of key transport technology infrastructure, including Victoria Park and Johnstone Hills Tunnels, as well as the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
Performance of key duties outside of peak traffic times, using leading-edge traffic management solutions.
Identification of new innovations and continuous improvement of duties to ensure optimal safety and maintenance outcomes across the life span of the contract.
