Auckland System Management (ASM) — Auckland State Highway Network

The Auckland System Management (ASM) network is a long-term alliance maintaining and renewing the greater Tāmaki Makaurau and Waikato state highway network. ASM supports the social and economic activity of these regions, and carries nearly 20% of Aotearoa’s traffic. 

This mahi includes network management, road maintenance, surfacing, bridge and tunnel maintenance, traffic management, and renewals. Through integrated systems and transparent communication, the alliance maintains safety and performance while minimising disruption across thousands of packages of work.

ASM is guided by a vision to connect communities and make every day better. The team engage with local communities and road users regularly, and safety and innovation is embedded in their day-to-day operations.

ASM won the 2025 CCNZ National Awards for Asset Management, reflecting its data-driven planning, collaborative programming, and customer‑-centric delivery.
